San Antonio Server Reveals Which Profession Tips the Worst. Then He Proves It
'I think servers should wear bodycams.'
A San Antonio restaurant server claims nurses make the worst customers, and he has an example to back his opinion up. Hereβs what sparked his rant.
TikTok creator David (@daavviidd.__) is a restaurant server based in San Antonio. In a video posted recently, which has 3 million views, he declares, βStereotypes are real. You know who I hate? The group of people I canβt stand the most? Nurses.β
What Prompted This San Antonio Serverβs Nurse Rant
Evidently, David filmed the video after serving a table of nurses in scrubs during a recent shift, and it seems like this tableβs behavior is indicative of other nurses heβs served in the past. First, the women at the table snapped at him the first time he asked for their drink order. Then, one of the women was upset that he suggested cocktails. And, of course, the woman who didnβt want wineβbecause sheβs not an βalcoholicβ---decided she wanted a glass after everyone at the table was served theirs.

That wouldβve been annoying for any server, but the fun didnβt stop there. David says the woman asked for a glass of sauvignon blanc, which is a white wine made of grapes from Loire Valley, France. When he delivered the wine, however, she told him she wanted red wine.
The final straw for David was when it was time for the table to order entrees. All of the women decided on chicken alfredo, and David says he confirmed that they all wanted grilled chicken with their pasta. When the plates arrived, another of the nursesβnot the sauvignon blanc oneβinsisted that she ordered crispy chicken instead. David returned the plate to the kitchen, and was rewarded with a $2.50 tip for his troubles.

At the end of the video, David reveals that he identified the women as nurses because they all wore their name tags into the restaurant. βSo the ladies that work at the medical center right here?β David asks. βMonica, Samantha, and Ariel with the dusty weave in her hair? Man, I hope yβall get fired, because if thatβs the future face of the medical field? Everybodyβs cooked. I hope this video finds you guys.β
Viewers React to the San Antonio Serverβs Nurse Stereotype Rant
In the comments section, viewers reacted to Davidβs nurse horror story and offered their opinions on his subsequent rant. Many speculated that David works at Olive Garden.
βI think servers should wear bodycams,β wrote one viewer.
βDo nurses realize that theyβre just glorified servers?β asked a second person.
βTheyβre awful to DoorDashers too,β a third person said.
Another person argued, βThis just further confirms the stereotype that at least 70 percent of people that become nurses were those bullies in high school.β
The Truth About Nursing and βMean Girlβ Culture
Nursing is an extremely demanding profession that requires long hours, difficult interpersonal dynamics, health risks, and dealing with patient death and suffering. While it doesnβt excuse poor behavior in public, the fact that half of nurses report feeling depressed since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic might explain some of the problem. However, bullying among nurses is also a long-standing industry discussion.
Apparently, the bullying behavior doesnβt always end at the hospital. The internet is full of general complaints about the attitudes and behaviors of nurses. To the point where one student nurse even took to Reddit to discuss how the social media trend was impacting her life.
βIβm getting really tired of the stigma that this narrative creates for the nursing profession,β the woman wrote. βNot saying that nurses canβt be bullies, but I donβt think weβre any more prone to mean girl culture than any other field.β
In the comments, one nurse replied, βIt doesnβt bother me in the least bit, because I stopped accepting responsibility for things that arenβt true about me.β
