Residents are spotting empty vehicles around town and sharing mixed reactions, while crash data from Austin and a federal investigation into school-bus encounters raise questions about what this technology means for local road safety.
   

2. Hugh Triangular Craft Spotted Over San Antonio (beforeitsnews.com) — A driver describes twice spotting a huge, boomerang-shaped craft while heading west on Loop 410 near Texas A&M–San Antonio, flying between a small municipal airport and Lackland Air Force Base. The silent, gray “flying wing” carried only white lights in an unusual pattern and appeared much larger than a typical commercial jet, leaving the witness wondering if it was an experimental aircraft.
   

3. Gabriel 'Fluffy' Iglesias helps San Antonio Food Bank raise 30,000 pounds of donated food! (news4sanantonio.com) — San Antonio residents in need will benefit from 30,000 pounds of food raised through Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias’ Christmas Comedy Show canned food drive supporting the San Antonio Food Bank. The organization is urging locals to keep the momentum going by donating and helping fight food insecurity across Southwest Texas.

Noodle Tree to close as chef focuses on cancer battle (mysanantonio.com) — One of San Antonio’s most beloved ramen spots, Noodle Tree on UTSA Boulevard, will close for good on January 11, 2026, as chef-owner Mike Nguyen steps back to focus on his health after battling blood cancer. Until then, weekend hours are expanding so fans can get a final bowl and burger before the seven-year-old restaurant says goodbye.
   

5. San Antonio area high school soccer players to watch in 2025-26 season (expressnews.com) — San Antonio–area soccer fans get an early look at standout boys and girls players to watch as UIL and TAPPS high school seasons kick off Dec. 29. The list highlights athletes from San Antonio Christian, South San, Alamo Heights, Reagan, Harlan and many more nearby programs, giving local families and students plenty of names to follow this winter.
