Here are the top stories in San Antonio today:
- Bexar County Sheriff's Office hosting exclusive summer camp for teenagers (FOX 29)
- An elderly man that was killed by his roommate has been identified as 61-year-old Gregory Visman. He was found shot several times at the back of his apartment he shared with the roommate. The shooter fired over 100 round at police after killing Visman. The standoff happened on June 9, Friday morning. Check back with WOAI for updates on identification of the shooter.
- Bexar County was not included in a weather heat advisory last week however, KENS5 says that San Antonians should exercise caution approaching the first week of triple-digit weather. Heat indexes are expected to be in the 108-111 range with high humidity. It is recommended for folks to wear light-colored clothing, make sure children and pets are not left unattended inside vehicles, and to stay properly hydrated throughout the days. - The Bexar County Medical Examiners identified a man found in the San Antonio River. Roy Tavitas, 62, was found floating in the river by a jogger. Police were called to the scene on the 400 block of King William Street after 4 p.m. Police found the conditions suspicious while firefighters who extracted the body did not find any obvious signs of trauma. It is said that further investigation will be needed. Head Topic may have future updates as this story progresses.
