Here are the top stories in San Antonio today:
- Build-to-rent homes are on the rise, including in Bexar County. "Before 2019, San Antonio had only a 'handful' of build-to-rent communities, Embrey research consultant Jeanette Rice wrote in a recent report. Four years later, there are 15 such communities in the local market with a total of 3,107 homes." The reason for this market is because many families want to live that suburban home lifestyle but cannot afford purchasing the market's high-priced homes. Perks of these build-to-rent homes include community lawn care, access to swimming pools, clubhouse, and fitness centers. Visit San Antonio Report for all the details.

- San Antonio Airbnb rentals are charging a slightly above-average 'junk fee.' According to research done by Forbes Advisor, San Antonio visitors who book an Airbnb property pay 37 percent in additional charges. These fees include cleaning service, other services, and taxes. The national average shows 36 percent added charges to rental stays. Visit the San Antonio Current to check out other national stats on 'junk fees'.
- A man crashed into an 18-wheeler in San Antonio. He is suspected of driving while intoxicated, however that is still under investigation. At around 2:30 a.m., the man was driving in the wrong direction in the southbound lanes of I-35 and collided head-on with the 18-wheeler, after missing three other vehicles. This incident did not involve any injuries though it could have certainly had a less fortunate ending. MySA has the full details.
