  1. A local San Antonio man stabbed a family dog. On April 27, the suspect John Schaffer stabbed the dog after threatening to kill it. He "faces a 3rd-degree felony charge of Animal Cruelty-Torture. The felony is punishable by up to 10 years in jail with a fine of up to $10,000." The dog, Zander, was fostered by ACS officers before he found his forever home. (WOAI)
  2. San Antonio chalk artist Lakey Hinson "argues that removal of his Juneteenth mural at the Pearl was politically motivated." The Pearl officials defended themselves stating that their power washing of the Juneteenth mural was not politically or racially motivated but claims that the artist did not take the proper steps to get approval to begin the art project in its location. The Pearl officials tried to rectify the issue with Hinson via social media messages, offering to work on future projects together but Hinson was not very receptive. (San Antonio Current)
  3. A local 55-year-old man was "accused of sexually assaulting two children for years." Bryce Conrad Chatland was arrested and charged with two, first-degree felony charges of continuous sexual abuse of a child. The allegations state that the abuse started in 2016. Investigators found a hidden camera that was disguised as a charger with video evidence of the two juveniles. "A conviction for a first-degree felony in Texas carries a possible punishment of 5-99 years in prison." (KSAT San Antonio)
