- A pedestrian was struck by a train on the East Side around 10:30 a.m. on Sunday. The person was struck on the railroad and not at a crossing. They were taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. No one else was injured at the time. KSAT San Antonio will give updates if more information becomes available.
- San Antonio author Johnny Compton published his debut novel, The Spite House. It's "a haunted house story that gets under your skin," and as the author says, will make you want to keep the lights on, and is overall creepy! "Described as The Babadook meets A Head Full of Ghosts in the Texas Hill Country, The Spite House follows Eric Ross and his two daughters who move from Maryland to Texas 'on the run from a mysterious past.'" My San Antonio has more details.
- San Antonio Water System (SAWS) is offering hiring incentives of up to $2,000. Talent Acquisition Manager Sadie Thompson said, "Just looking for people that have skills that they can use whether it's in construction, plumbing is always helpful but not necessary. Anybody who's willing to kinda pick up a tool learns how to use it and get to work." SAWS hosted a hiring event on Saturday with almost a hundred candidates and the company hopes that the incentive will attract the right candidates. More on WOAI.
