Here are the top stories today in San Antonio:
- San Antonio residents have hope for dangerous dog laws to pass even though they are stuck in legislation. These laws are finally being pushed due to recent vicious dog attacks that have killed other pets and a human. The law would allow for anonymous affidavits to be filed however, if any cases were to go to court, the anonymous filer would have to testify in court. Learn more at WOAI.
- District 10 Councilman Clayton Perry told a teen cashier ‘I love you’ and that he was only there to see her, "before drunkenly crashing his car in hit-and-run, SAPD report says." Local bars have said that Perry is known for walking out on open tabs. "Perry pleaded no contest and received deferred adjudication last month." For more on this story, visit KENS5.
- San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg praises the House Bill 2744. It "would raise the minimum age to purchase AR-15-style semiautomatic rifles from 18 to 21. It would also prohibit firearm sales to those who are intoxicated or who have a protective order against them." The bill passed just days after the mass shooting in Allen, Texas, that killed eight people. Learn more at mySA.
