- Is real estate still a good investment? It is in San Antonio — but timing is key. Despite inflation, increases in the cost of living, and interest rates above 6 percent, San Antonio is the most affordable metro area in Texas with an average home price of $300,000. The average home price in Houston is $318,000, in Dallas $346,000, and in Austin, home buyers can expect to pay an average of $525,000! San Antonio is likely to remain the most affordable metro area in Texas. “It is expected to stay that way in the coming year and more,” says Jim Gaines, an economist at Texas A&M’s Real Estate Research Center. - High-tech vans that "revolutionize road maintenance" will soon be on the streets of Bexar County, saving time and taxpayer money. Vans fitted with three front cameras and one rear camera will use pavement data collection to survey the county's 1,500 roads every three to five years. Engineer Finch Dunkin said the technology will save time and money and "makes sure the roads remain in good shape." He added, "The person in the office can actually see the road, see the crack, and they don't have to drive out in the county to see what's going on, on that road." (WOAI)
- Welcome home, Wemby! Victor Wembanyama, the No. 1 pick for The San Antonio Spurs, was expected to land in San Antonio at the Signature North Terminal away from the crowds sometime around 3:30 p.m., after his flight was delayed, likely due to weather conditions in the New York City area. The San Antonio Spurs will introduce Victor Wembanyama during a press conference at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. (KSAT)
- The first S.A. location of the Arkansas-based 7 Brew Drive-Thru Coffee will open its first San Antonio location in the city on Monday, June 22. The 7 Brew chain is the latest to open a coffee shop among "a long line of competitors" in San Antonio, including Black Rock Coffee Bar, Dutch Bros. Coffee and many others.
