FRESNO, TX — A 71-year-old Texas man was mauled by seven dogs while walking to a corner store in Fort Bend County on Monday and later died from his injuries, according to authorities.
The man was attacked by seven pit bulls on Fort Bend Terrace in Fresno around 1:30 p.m. and was flown to Memorial Hermann Hospital in downtown Houston, where he died, Fort Bend County Sheriff Eric Fagan said.
Four of the dogs were captured soon after the attack, and the remaining three dogs were captured Tuesday, authorities said.

The man did nothing to provoke the attack, according to Fagan.
"It was uncalled for. It was senseless," Fagan said.

The victim's name was Freddy Garcia, family members told ABC 13 Houston.
Authorities are still searching for the dogs' owner, and charges could be pressed, police said.
The owner responsible for the dogs could face a second-degree felony charge punishable by two to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000 under "Lillian's Law," which was passed after Lillian Stiles, who died from a mauling in 2005, Fort Bend County District Attorney Brian Middleton said.
Middleton encouraged Fresno residents to report stray dogs and added that it's the owner's responsibility to keep dangerous dogs secure for the safety of the community.
"If you fail to do that, you will be held accountable," Middleton said.
