About 1K CA Stores Sold Recalled Products In Listeria Outbreak: List
The FDA released a list of about 1,000 stores that sold cheese recalled as part of a listeria outbreak that left 23 people hospitalized.

CALIFORNIA — Federal regulators have released a list of about 1,000 stores in California that received a cheese product recalled as part of a multi-state, multi-year listeria outbreak that has sickened 26 people, leaving two dead and 23 hospitalized.
Rizo Lopez gave the U.S. Food and Drug Administration a 24-page list of stores that includes about 1,000 retailers where its dairy products were sold. Of those pages, 22 pages contained stores with addresses in California. All but five stores on the 23rd page were also in the Golden State.
The list ranges from smaller supermarkets to larger chains, such as Food Maxx, Food 4 Less and Lucky 7.

The FDA noted Tuesday that this list may not include all retail establishments that received the recalled product — the products were sold nationwide — and may include stores that did not receive them.
"Please refer to the product list regardless of place of purchase and discard recalled product," the FDA said.
As Patch previously reported, numerous dairy products have been recalled in recent weeks as part of the FDA's investigation, including chicken street taco meal kits and corn bites, salad products sold at Walmart, Costco and Winco, and multiple products sold at Trader Joe's. It also includes sandwiches and rolls, and a black bean dip.
Listeria is most likely to sicken pregnant people and newborns, adults aged 65 or older, and people with weakened immune systems. Other people can be infected with listeria, though they rarely fall seriously ill.
In California, at least eight people have been sickened by the products, and one person died.
