Stanley Cups Recalled For Burn Hazards
Stanley received 91 reports from customers worldwide, including 16 in the United States, stating that the lids on their Switchback and Trigger Action stainless steel travel mugs detached during use, the CPSC said in a statement on the company’s recall of 2.6 million of its popular travel mugs.
The lid threads can shrink when exposed to heat and as they’re screwed on and off, according to the statement. The problem resulted in 38 burn injuries worldwide, including two in the United States. Eleven of those injured needed medical attention.
