600K Trucks Recalled Due To Crash Risk

Other recent recalls include bread with glass fragments and sausages and deli meats consumers said were "off-taste and off-color."

Twenty-six lawsuits have been filed and more than 100 people have been burned — about half of them seriously — while using a SharkNinja pressure cooker, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Nearly 2 million of the company’s Foodi OP300 Series Multi-Function Pressure Cookers have been recalled, according to a notice posted Thursday. The lid of the pressure cooker can be opened during use, causing hot contents to escape and burn users, the company said.

SharkNinja received 109 reports of burn injuries, 50 of them involving second- and third-degree burns to the face and body.

The pressure cookers were sold nationwide for about $200 from March 2019 through March 2025 at Walmart, Costco, Sam’s Club, Amazon, and Target and directly by the company through its e-commerce site.

Consumers should immediately stop using the product’s pressure-cooking function and contact SharkNinja for a free replacement lid. Consumers can continue to use the product’s air frying and other functions, according to the notice. More details.

19K Pounds Of Deli Meats, Sausages Recalled

Nearly 19,000 pounds of ready-to-eat sausage and sliced meat and poultry products have been recalled because they contain excessive sodium nitrate levels, according to the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.

Smith Packing LLC, a Utica, New York, company, said it discovered sodium nitrate levels after receiving “consumer complaints of products that were off-taste and off-color,” the FSIS said.

There have been no reports of “adverse” reactions. Sodium nitrite is added to deli meats as a preservative to prevent spoilage and bacterial growth. It also contributes to the characteristic color and flavor of cured meats. In excessive amounts, it can cause methemoglobinemia — a condition impairing oxygen transport — which may lead consumers to experience serious health issues.

GM Recalls Nearly 600,000 Trucks And SUVs

General Motors is recalling 597,630 full-size trucks and SUVs because their V8 engines can fail without warning, increasing the risk of a crash, according to a notice from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The problem stems from manufacturing defects in the connecting rod and crankshaft components, which the NHTSA said “can lead to engine damage and engine failure.”

The recall includes the following V8-engine models:

  • 2021-2024 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV;
  • Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Suburban and Tahoe;
  • GMC Sierra 1500, Yukon, and Yukon XL

Dealers will inspect engines for repair or replacement at no charge to owners. GM will begin sending letters to affected owners around June 9.

Ford Recalls 289,000 Trucks And SUVs

About 289,000 Ford trucks and SUVs are being recalled due to problems with backup cameras, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The agency announced a pair of recalls to correct the problems, the first involving 160,729 model year 2015 vehicles, including certain Ford F-Super Duty F250, F350, and F450 trucks, Ford Expeditions, Lincoln Navigators and Lincoln MKCs.

The rearview cameras can intermittently display a blank or distorted image, which can reduce the driver’s ability to see behind them, increasing the risk of a crash, according to the NHTSA.

The second recall of 28,889 Ford Bronco SUVs from the 2022-23 model year also relates to problems with the rearview cameras, which may display either a rear camera blue image or a full blue or black image on the SYNC screen when the vehicle is placed in reverse, or when the 360-degree view is selected.

Ford will replace the cameras at no cost to owners. Those who paid out-of-pocket costs for repairs before the recall are eligible for reimbursement. Ford said it would begin contacting affected owners by mail starting May 5. Check your vehicle for recalls.
