ACROSS AMERICA — Thanksgiving is supposed to be a time when loved ones gather around the table, share a laugh, and take a moment to remember what they're thankful for. But for many, Americans, putting a turkey, mashed potatoes and stuffing on the table is out of reach, particularly amid rising inflation.

Fortunately, this year several brands have taken it upon themselves to create affordable options. Whether it's a $25 meal deal or a bevy of tasty, deeply discounted items, Patch has scoured the internet and rounded up some of the best Thanksgiving meal deals in America.

1. Target Touts Full Thanksgiving Feast For Under $25

Target announced this month plans to sell customers an entire Thanksgiving meal that feeds four people for under $25. Additionally, customers can pay for eligible grocery items through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.

Customers can now shop Target's Thanksgiving meal for under $25 online and in-store, including the following "must-have staples" to serve a family of four:

2. Walmart Serves Up Two Thanksgiving Meals At Discounted Prices

Walmart last month said it will remove inflation from its traditional Thanksgiving items, and plans to offer two Thanksgiving meal options at a lower price than last year, one with ingredients that customers can cook from scratch, and one that is ready-to-bake.

Walmart's Thanksgiving meal includes fixings from national brands, such as turkey, ham, stuffing and pumpkin pie.

The discounts began Nov. 1 and last through Dec. 26.

3. Aldi Cuts Prices Up To 50% On Thanksgiving Classics

Aldi last month announced plans to cut prices up to 50% on classic Thanksgiving dishes, including potatoes, gravy, green beans brioche rolls, cranberries, butter, flour, pumpkin pie mix and pie crusts.

The grocery chain said it will offer discounts on over 70 "holiday classics" starting Nov. 1 and lasting through the holiday season.

4. Meijer Customers Could Pay 1930s Prices For Turkeys

The Midwest retailer Meijer said this week it will cut the prices of turkeys to help families combat inflation. The chain expects to sell 1 million turkeys this holiday season, and said customers can buy a frozen bird for $0.59 a pound through Nov. 25 — roughly the same price customers paid in the 1930s.

Fresh and frozen birds, include:

  • Meijer brand frozen turkey at $0.59 per pound
  • Honeysuckle White brand frozen turkey at $1.09 per pound
  • Meijer brand fresh turkey at $1.19 per pound
  • Butterball brand frozen turkey at $1.29 per pound
  • Butterball fresh turkey at $1.99 per pound
  • True Goodness by Meijer brand frozen antibiotic-free turkey at $2.19 per pound

Fresh turkeys will be delivered daily, beginning the week of Nov. 12. All Meijer brand turkeys will be limited to one per customer.

5. At Lidl, A Thanksgiving Dinner That Feeds 10 People — For $30

Beginning Nov. 15, Lidl said customers will be able to serve a Thanksgiving dinner — complete with a turkey, sweet potatoes, vegetables, sweet rolls, stuffing and more — for under $30.

The deal includes:

  • Pumpkin Pie Mix, 30 oz.
  • Pie Crusts x 2

6. ShopRite Offers Free Turkey or Ham — When You Spend $400

ShopRite customers who show their Price Plus membership card to the cashier can score a free turkey or ham, or capitalize on one of several other deals. The offer is open through Nov. 23.

Spend $400 and qualify for one of the following:

  • ShopRite or Bowl & Basket All-Natural Frozen Turkey any size up to 21 lbs. OR Save $1.99/lb. off any other fresh, or frozen turkey brand (up to 21- lbs).
  • Empire or Kosher Turkey brand $1.99/lb. off (up to 21 lbs).
  • Cooks Butt or Shank ½ Smoked Ham OR Save $2.39/lb. off any Cook’s Spiral Sliced Ham, Boneless Ham, or any other Smoked Ham (up to 12 lbs. avg.) or $7.17 off John F Martin Boneless Ham.
  • $3.29/lb. off any other fresh or frozen Turkey Breast or Empire Kosher Turkey Breast.

7. ACME Customers Can Score Free Turkey — If They Spend $400 Or More

ACME is offering up a free frozen turkey to customers who spend at least $400 this season. The offer is limited to one Signature Farms Turkey or Turkey Breast, 10-22 pounds or 4-7-lb. avg.

The deal expires Nov. 23.

8. BJ's Offers Free Turkey For Customers Who Spend $150

Customers who shop at the wholesaler BJ's can get a free turkey this year, but must first create a BJ's digital account and spend $150 in one transaction before Nov. 9. Then, they will be able to clip a coupon in the BJ's app or on the store's website from Nov. 11-22 for a free Butterball turkey.

Customers can claim the free turkey by returning to the store, or placing a pick-up or delivery order by Nov. 22.

9. At Giant, Score A Free Turkey By Redeeming 400 Points

Giant said customers this year can claim a free, frozen Shady Brook Farms turkey — up to 20 pounds — when they redeem 400 CHOICE membership points.

The deal, which started Nov. 1, allows customers to claim a free turkey (or Stouffer's entree, tofurkey roast,) online or in-store. Customers will be able to pick out a turkey beginning Nov. 10. The deal is limited to one free turkey per household.

In addition to a free turkey, the paper certificate or digital reward may be redeemed for a Free Stouffers Party Size Entree, Free Empire Frozen Kosher Turkey, Free Tofurky Roast (40 oz.) or a $1.00 per pound savings off any other turkey up to 20 pounds.

10. Foodtown Customers Can Get Free Turkey By Spending $400

The Northeast grocery store Foodtown said customers can claim a free, frozen turkey when they shop with a Club Card and spend $400 or more. Customers can also choose to buy a ham, Stouffer's lasagna dinner, or turkey breast, or claim a $10 gift card.

11. H-E-B Offers Free Turkey When You Buy A Ham

H-E-B is offering a deal in which customers can get a free Riverside Turkey up to 12 pounds when they buy a select H-E-B spiral ham. The discount is applied in cart, and no coupon is necessary.

12. Weis Offers Free Turkey With 400 Points

Weis Markets is offering up turkey and ham deals to customers this year. Customers can claim a free turkey, turkey breast or bone-in ham when they redeem 400 points. Alternatively, they can redeem 200 points on those items to knock the price per pound down to $0.69, $0.99, and $0.99, respectively.

The chain is also offering deals on other items as well, such as tofurky, vegetable lasagna, and salmon filets.

13. WinCo Customers Can Get Free Turkey When They Spend $125

Beginning Nov. 15, WinCo customers can score a free, frozen Honeysuckle White turkey or Jennie-O Grade A turkey when they spend $125 starting Wednesday Nov. 15.

The turkey must be in the cart at checkout, and the price at purchase cannot include the turkey. The deal lasts until Nov. 22, and excludes Butterball and fresh turkeys.
