Costco Product Sold In 33 States Recalled Over Listeria Concerns
The FDA said the green onions used to make the Ahi tuna product may be contaminated with the potentially deadly bacteria.

About 3,300 pounds of Kirkland Signature brand Ahi Tuna Wasabi Poke sold at Costco stores in multiple states has been recalled because it may be contaminated with the potentially deadly bacteria Listeria monocytogenes, according to the Food and Drug Administration.
The FDA said the green onions used in the traditional Hawaiian dish have the potential to be contaminated with the bacteria, which cause serious and sometimes fatal infections, especially in young children, frail or older people, and others with weakened immune systems.
The Ahi Tuna Wasabi Poke was sold under Costco’s Kirkland Signature brand in Alabama, Alaska, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin.

The affected product is packaged in clear plastic clamshell containers and has the Kirkland Signature brand label was packaged on Sept. 18 and has a sell-by date of Sept. 22, according to the FDA.
Kent, Washington-based Western United Fish Company, doing business as Annasea Foods Group, initiated the recall after it was notified by its supplier that green onions had tested positive for the potentially deadly bacteria.

No illnesses have been reported, the FDA said.
Consumers are advised not to eat the product and dispose of it immediately. Refunds may be requested at the local Costco store where the product was purchased.
Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can lead to serious pregnancy complications among pregnant women.
