Apple Debuts iPhone 16 With Apple Intelligence; More New Releases

On Sept. 9, 2024, Apple unveiled its latest releases during its "It's Glowtime" event. The iPhone 16 is the first phone designed for Apple Intelligence, a new personal intelligence system. Available in new colors and featuring a faster A18 chip, the iPhone 16 offers improved battery life and advanced AI integration for tasks like image generation.

Apple also announced the upcoming release of Apple Watch Series 10, a thinner and lighter watch with advanced health features, and the all-new AirPods 4.

Below, we break down everything you need to know about Apple's upcoming releases.

iPhone 16 Series

iPhone 16 and 16 Plus

The new iPhone 16, which has been rumored for some time, comes with many advancements beneficial to Apple users, including:

• Apple Intelligence: A new personal intelligence system that understands personal context to provide relevant and helpful insights while protecting privacy.
• Camera Control: A new feature that offers more ways to capture and interact with visual information, allowing users to quickly access details about objects or places around them.

iPhone 16 Pro And Pro Max

The iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max are set to see some improvements, too. The iPhone 16 Pro features a 6.3-inch display, while the Pro Max offers a 6.9-inch display. This measures as Apple's largest iPhone display to date, while boasting the thinnest border found on any Apple product and an improved battery life. Powered with ProMotion and Its Always On Display, the iPhone 16 Pro will be available in four new titanium finishes: black, white, natural and desert.

Apple Watch Series 10

During the event, Apple released the new Apple Watch Series 10. It offers its largest, most advanced display yet, making it easier to type and interact with the display.

Other features Apple users can expect from the Apple Watch Series 10 include:

• Largest, Most Advanced Display: Featuring a wide-angle OLED display with up to 40 percent more brightness from an angle and faster refresh rates, ideal for improved readability and usability.
• Thinnest design ever. It's the slimmest Apple Watch yet, making it more comfortable to wear, with aluminum cases 10 percent lighter and titanium cases 20 percent lighter than Series 9.
• S10 Chip. This chip's four-core neural engine makes this watch fast, intelligent and power efficient.
• Reengineered speakers. Designed to be 30 percent smaller without compromising its capabilities, the new Apple Watch Series 10 can play audio directly through its speakers.
• Faster charging. Plug in for just 30 minutes to reach 80 percent charge.

The Apple Watch starts at $399 and is available to pre-order now. It will be available on Sept. 20.

Apple Watch Ultra 2

In addition to all the standard core features available in the Apple Watch, the Apple Watch Ultra 2 provides athletes with even more capabilities to help them get the most out of their activities.

The Apple Watch Ultra 2 is equipped with the most accurate GPS found in a sports watch, using dual-frequency GPS. It's designed for active lifestyles, offering the most rugged and capable watch that features a titanium case that's both scratch-resistant and durable.

Additional features found on the Apple Watch Ultra 2 include:

• Sport-specific features. The Apple Watch Ultra 2 is perfect for different sports, offering features like automatic stroke detection and lap count for swimming and latitude, longitude and route creation for hikers.
• New ultra band. Now available in a sleek Satin Black, the band is made of 95 percent recycled-grade 5 titanium.
• Action button. This customizable button can be used to perform functions with a single touch.

The Apple Watch Ultra 2 is available for pre-order starting at $799 and will be available on Sept. 20.

AirPods

AirPods 4

The new generation of AirPods offers a refined design to offer the most comfortable feel yet. Powered by the H2 chip — the most advanced in the industry — AirPods 4 come equipped with the smallest, most portable case yet.

Notable features available in AirPods 4 include:

• Open-ear design with advanced fit technology for maximum comfort.

AirPods Max
