The Best Cookies From Coast to Coast: As Shared By Patch Editors
In celebration of National Cookie Day, we're sharing the best cookie spots across America.

National Cookie Day is Dec. 4, and we would never pass up the chance to talk about dessert. We asked Patch reporters across America where we can find the ultimate cookie in their state — and here's what they said. Road trip, anyone?

Milk Jar Cookies in Los Angeles is a go-to spot for homemade cookies paired with locally sourced milk and ice cream. The bakery offers a ton of delicious flavors such as banana split, rocky road and peanut butter (pictured above). If you're feeling extra bold, opt for the ice cream sandwich.

This Lakewood-based cookie company has a range of scratch-baked cookie options. From butter pecan to gingersnaps (pictured above) and everything in between, you really can't go wrong here. Best of all? They deliver. You don't even have to leave your house to have one of these heavenly cookies. You can thank our reporter, Amber, for the tip.

Connecticut: Kathy's Famous Cookies![]()
To Kathy Klein, owner of Kathy's Famous Cookies, a cookie represents so much more than just a cookie. It represents hard work and the importance of bouncing back from tough situations. For 20 years, her bakehouse has been selling giant, chewy, cake-like cookies that drive locals wild. Be sure to stop by next time you're in Milford, Connecticut.
Florida: Gideon's Bakehouse

If you've never had a cookie from Gideon's, we honestly feel for you. The Orlando bakery is famous for its half-pound, super-flavorful cookies. Start with the traditional chocolate chip cookie and then branch out from there. If you're trying to get one of these, you better get there early — they sell out quickly.

This Chicagoland bakery has been around for 40 years — and after drooling over their cookies ourselves, we can see why. All of the cookies are made from scratch and baked throughout the week. Also, their custom cookies (like the ones pictured above) are SO cute for a special event.
Maryland: Berger Cookies

Berger Cookies in Baltimore is famous for its soft, cake-like cookies covered with delicious hand-dipped fudge icing. Every cookie is homemade, using the same recipe since the 1800s. Berger Cookies is a staple in Maryland, and we are dying to try one out. For now, we'll have to live vicariously through out Patch editor, Elizabeth Janney, who gets to have one whenever she wants.
Massachusetts: The Cookie Monstah

Meet the cookie food truck you never knew you needed. The Cookie Monstah operates out of a food truck, serving up delicious homemade cookies and ice cream sandwiches across Boston. Flavors include s'mores, cinnamon and red velvet.

Cookies just taste better in a jar, especially when they're from Sweet Martha's. These chocolate chip cookies, baked on the spot and sold hot out of the oven, reached success at the Minnesota State Fair, and now locals (and tourists) can't get enough of them.

If you've ever visited New York City, you've probably heard the hype about Chip — and it certainly lives up to that. With flavors ranging from blueberry cheesecake to peanut butter and jelly, it truly has it all.
North Carolina: Bonjour Y'all Bakery
Located in historic Davidson, Bonjour Y'all Bakery brings Southern nostalgia with a French twist to its menu. There are loads of desserts to choose from, but the crinkle cookies are Patch editor Kimberly Johnson's go-to choice. This bakery may be small, but its cookies pack some mighty flavor.
Ohio: Little Shop of Cookies

Little Shop of Cookies, located in Cleveland, is unique in that each cookie is made with a peanut butter base instead of just regular butter. That is why these are the cookies that locals know and love. When it's time to host for the holidays — or to simply celebrate the end of a long week — skip the cake and opt for one of these mouth-watering cookie trays.
Rhode Island: Gingersnaps Bakery![]()

Gingersnaps Bakery, located in Lincoln, is one of those places where whenever you walk in, you immediately feel like family. The cookies will remind you of your mom's baking. With a few locations in Virginia, Bakeshop has become a staple in the community where neighbors get together to enjoy its tasty treats. The owners are committed to giving back to the community and aim to hire as many local kids as they can. If that's not enough of a reason to love them, that melted chocolate above will do the trick. With flavors such as Salty Oat Apricot and Cranberry Orange White Chocolate, their range is ridiculous.
Wisconsin: Colectivo Coffee

It may be primarily a coffee shop, but Colectivo also makes some mouthwatering cookies. According to Patch editor Scott Anderson, their cookies are perfect for breaking apart and dipping into a latte. All the cookies are made from scratch and are sourced from local ingredients whenever possible. Next time you're in Wisconsin, be sure to check out one of their many locations.
Happy eating!
