Broccoli Sold At Walmart May Have Listeria [Recall Roundup]
Ford, fined last year for a slow response to recalls, issued four recalls in a single day; children's jewelry sold on Amazon contains lead.

Broccoli sold at Walmart stores in 20 states has been recalled due to concerns the product is contaminated with listeria, and Ford Motor Co., fined $165 million late last year for moving too slowly on recalls, announced four more Tuesday affecting about 345,500 vehicles.
Also, Kawasaki is recalling 39,000 John Deere lawn mowers that can catch fire, and a cat food recall highlights the growing threat of bird flu.

Ford Issues 4 Recalls In A Single Day
Ford Motor Co. announced four separate recalls Tuesday totaling about 345,500 vehicles, according to the NHTSA, which late last year fined Ford $165 million for moving too slowly on a 2020 recall of more than 700,000 vehicles in North America, about 620,000 of them in the United States.
The largest of the four recalls involves 295,449 Ford diesel-engine trucks, which were recalled because the high-pressure fuel pump may fail, resulting in a loss of power and increasing the risk of a crash, according to the NHTSA.
Affected models are:
- 2020-2022 Ford Super Duty F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550, F-600
- 2021-2022 Ford F-650, F-750
According to recall documents, drivers whose vehicles have the defective fuel pump may experience “extended crank while starting, a Check Engine Light (CEL), noise and reduced engine power.”
Dealers will update the powertrain control module (PCM) software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Jan. 13, and owners may also contact Ford customer service at 866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 24S78.
Also recalled Tuesday were:
— Nearly 50,000 2024-2025 Lincoln Nautilus vehicles with faulty power windows that may fail to detect obstructions, increasing the risk of injury, according to the recall notice. Ford's number for this recall is 24C43, and NHTSA’s number for the recall is 24V-953.
— More than 30,000 2019 Flex Fiesta and 2019 Lincoln MKT cars because they have faulty rear-view camera that “intermittently displays a blank, distorted or inverted image while in reverse,” which can limit or distort the driver’s view of what is behind the vehicle, according to the recall notice.
— More than 20,000 Ford Escape (model years 2021-2024) and Lincoln Corsair (model years 2021-2024) compact SUVs because of battery failure concerns. The NHTSA recall number is 24V-954.
Kawasaki Recalls 39,000 John Deere Mowers
Kawasaki is recalling about 39,000 John Deere ZTrack Zero Turn Mowers made with its engines because they pose fire and burn hazards, according to the CPSC.
No injuries have been reported, but Kawasaki has received five reports of fires and 26 reports of melting and/or smoking.
Affected model numbers are Z720E, Z730M, Z740R and Z760R yellow and green John Deere mowers with Kawasaki engines. The mowers were sold at John Deere dealerships nationwide from October 2018 through September 2024 for between $8,000 and $11,500.
Consumers should stop using the mowers and contact an authorized John Deere dealership for a free repair. Kawasaki and John Deere are contacting all known purchasers directly.
Cat Food Contains Bird Flu Virus
Northwest Naturals of Portland has voluntarily recalled a specific batch of its Feline Turkey Recipe raw frozen pet food after the death of a cat that ate the food was attributed to avian influenza, commonly known as bird flu.
The recalled product packaged in 2-pound plastic bags was distributed in a dozen U.S. states — Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Washington — as well as in British Columbia and Canada. It has “best if used by” dates of 05/21/26 B10 and 06/23/2026 B1.
Anyone who purchased the cat food should toss it immediately and contact the place of purchase for a full refund. For additional information, contact Northwest Naturals at info@nw-naturals.net or 866-637-1872 from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Pacific Time, Monday through Friday.
Kids’ Jewelry Sets Sold By Amazon Contain Lead
Yaomiao Children’s Jewelry Sets sold exclusively on Amazon have been recalled because of the risk of lead and cadmium poisoning, the CPSC said Thursday.
About 6,900 jewelry sets sold from January 2022 to March 2024 for between $8 and $21, depending on the set, are affected by the recall.
The CPSC said the recalled jewelry sets contain levels of lead that exceed the federal lead content ban and levels of cadmium that are prohibited in children’s products by the Federal Hazardous Substances Act. Lead and cadmium are toxic if ingested by young children and can cause multiple adverse health effects.
Consumers should immediately take the recalled jewelry sets away from children and contact LordRoads for a full refund. Consumers will be asked to dispose of the recalled jewelry sets and send a photo showing that to simlordroadple@163.com. LordRoads and Amazon are contacting all known purchasers directly.
FDA Recalls Popular Eye Drops
The FDA has announced a nationwide recall of a popular Alcon single-use eye drop after a customer complained about a foreign object in the vial that the manufacturer said tested positive for fungal contamination.
The recall involves a single lot of Systane Lubricant Eye Drops Ultra PF, Single Vials On-the-Go, 25 count (Lot 10101). No other eye drops from the brand are affected.
Alcon said it has received only one complaint about the eye drops and that the recall was made out of an “abundance of caution.” Fungal contamination in eye products can cause eye infections, the comapny said.
