ACROSS AMERICA — Great Value branded cashews sold at Walmart stores in 30 states have been recalled because they may contain undeclared coconut and milk, which could lead to fatal allergic reactions.

John B. Sanfilippo & Son said Tuesday it is voluntarily recalling a limited amount of its Great Value Honey Roasted Cashews. The products were sold in 8.25-ounce plastic cans and contain a best if used by date of July 8, 2025. Consumers can also look for the UPC number 078742133348.

No adverse reactions have been reported to date.

The products were distributed to some Walmart stores in the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, West Virginia and via Walmart.com.

The company said it recalled the cashews after a consumer said they found coconut cashews inside a container labeled as honey-roasted cashews. Investigators later found some honey-roasted cashew labels were applied to the plastic cans of coconut cashews during the manufacturing process, the company said.

"If this product is still in your possession, do not consume it," the company said. "Please discard the product or return the product to a Walmart store for a full refund."
