When it comes to your home, security is of the utmost importance. And whether you’re kicking your feet up in a massive colonial or laying your head down in a cozy studio, having a trusted home security system can help provide protection and peace of mind.

People living in homes of all sizes — including smaller condos and apartments — can benefit from having a home security system. With the Ring Alarm Home Security System, you can customize your kit and choose the components that meet your individual needs. If you move into a different place, you can easily take the system with you and add more sensors and security devices at any time.

Motion Detector — Detects motion inside your home. You can place it in any room or hallway to get alerts whenever someone is detected moving in the space.

Contact Sensor — One contact sensor secures one door or window and sends you alerts as soon as they open.

Range Extender — Extends the Z-Wave signal from your Ring Alarm Base Station to other compatible Ring Alarm components.

Which Home Security System Is Right For A Small Space?

Ideal for an apartment or condo, the Ring Alarm 5-Piece Kit offers everything you need to protect one window or door, and add motion detection to one room. If you're looking for a little extra coverage for a bigger space, you can also opt for the Ring Alarm 8-Piece Kit, which covers up to four windows or doors.

If you’re looking to protect your home both online and offline in an emergency, you can opt for Ring Alarm Pro² which includes a built-in eero Wi-Fi 6 router. With Ring Alarm Pro, you’ll get reliable physical and network security in one, innovative device, so you can help protect your home with all of the benefits of the Ring Alarm, to keep your home safe and secure, while experiencing fast, reliable connectivity.

Personalize Your System By Bundling Or Adding Devices

After you've determined which kit to start with, you can easily customize it. On top of adding more Contact Sensors and Motion Detectors to cover extra rooms and entry points, you can add other security devices such as Smoke & CO Listeners, Flood & Freeze Sensors and Panic Buttons.

The Smoke & CO Listener can be placed near your existing smoke and carbon monoxide detectors to get alerts if they go off.

The Flood & Freeze Sensor detects water and low temperatures so you can stay ahead of costly water damage. Just place it under a sink, refrigerator or any other water source and get alerts when water or low temperatures are detected.

Adding a Panic Button to your home security system can help provide a touch of extra security. You can place the Panic Button near where you spend the most time — such as your sofa, kitchen or by your bed — so that you can easily activate your Ring Alarm if there is an issue. All you have to do is press and hold the Alarm Panic Button for three seconds to sound the siren on your Ring Alarm.

When you subscribe to Ring Protect Pro and enroll in 24/7 professional monitoring³, you can request help as soon as you need it when an emergency arises in your home. In addition to receiving notifications when any of your compatible security sensors or Smoke & CO Listeners is triggered, your alarm will also alert the Ring Monitoring Center, which will call you to see if you need emergency assistance and request help if necessary.

It’s Easy To Install And Set Up Your Security System

With Ring, installing and setting up your home security system is simple. Just plug in the Ring Alarm Base Station and download the Ring app to connect the easy-to-install sensors and sync your compatible Ring devices. From there, you can control the Ring Alarm system using the Keypad or the Ring app. When any of the sensors is triggered, you’ll get a notification on the Ring app. You can personalize your notification preferences, so you receive only the alerts you care about.

If you decide that you don’t want to set up the Security System on your own, you can check if professional installation is available in your area.

Using Your Security System

Whether you’re cozying up at home or spending a night on the town, you’re able to choose among three convenient Modes for your Ring Alarm: Disarmed, Home and Away. In Disarmed Mode, you can go in and out of your home without triggering the alarm. When you're relaxing at home or going to bed, you can set your alarm to Home Mode that by default arms the Contact Sensors around the perimeter of your home and disarms all Motion Detectors inside your home. Lastly, when you're leaving for work, or to run errands or on vacation, you can arm all sensors by setting the alarm to Away Mode.
