IKEA Plans To Open New Stores In 2025, 2026: Here's Where
IKEA has announced plans to open more locations in the second half of this year and into next year.

CONSHOHOCKEN, PA — Furniture retailer IKEA has already opened a number of stores across the U.S. so far this year, however the company plans to open even more in 2025 with an eye already toward opening some in 2026.
In a statement sent to Patch, an IKEA U.S. spokesperson said the company has already opened four "plan and order" points with pick-up locations, as well as one pick-up point location thus far in 2025.
According to a company news release, the plan and order locations are intended to help customers "get support from IKEA experts for home furnishing solutions that require a bit more help, such as kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms."

These personalized shopping experiences are in addition to the full range of IKEA services, including free next-day pick-up for online orders, according to the release.

Four new plan and order point with pick up locations recently opened in the following communities this year, according to IKEA:
- Scottsdale, Ariz.
- Thousand Oaks, Calif.
- Ontario, Calif.
- Colma, Calif.
The additional pick-up point location opened in Santa Monica, Calif., according to IKEA.
Where Will They Go From Here?
The spokesperson said IKEA plans to open three more stores and three more plan and order point with pick up locations before the end of the year, and two more are already in the works for 2026.
For 2025, the company plans to open new stores in San Marcos, McAllen and Dallas, Texas.
According to the spokesperson, the San Marcos store will open in July, while the McAllen location will open in October. A December opening is planned for the Dallas store.
Meanwhile, the three upcoming plan and order point with pick up locations are planned to open this year in the following communities, according to IKEA:
- Cherry Hill, N.J.
- Hunt Valley, Md.
- Beaverton, Ore.
The spokesperson said the New Jersey and Oregon locations are planned to open in June and the Maryland location is set to open in July.
In 2026, IKEA plans to open stores in Rockwall, Texas, and Phoenix, Ariz., according to the spokesperson.

Growing and Expanding
The spokesperson also emphasized the company's intentions in regards to growing and expanding its footprint across the U.S.
"Our expansion with smaller store formats is just one of the many new exciting ways IKEA is growing and expanding with the aim of making the customer experience more inspiring, more convenient and even more affordable," the spokesperson said in a statement sent to Patch. "We have already made significant investments to enhance our e-commerce experience and service offerings, including small lower priced shipping and delivery, 'Click & Collect,' financing and TaskRabbit assembly services."
Founded in Sweden and headquartered in the Netherlands, IKEA is a multi-national company that both designs and sells ready-to-build furniture, as well as home goods and other products. IKEA has multiple stores across the U.S.
Last year, the company opened a plan and order point location in Annapolis, Md., its first location in Anne Arundel County.
In 2023, the company expanded into the Washington, D.C. area for the first time with the opening of a plan and order point location in Arlington, Va., offering inspiration and ideas for the home and one-on-one consultation services for kitchen design, bedroom and bathroom ideas, small space living recommendations and other services, according to IKEA.
