By now, you’ve probably heard about the Ring Video Doorbell and all the great things it allows you to do, such as answering the door from anywhere and staying connected to your home while you're away. But Ring isn't just a Video Doorbell company: It also offers a whole-home security system in the form of Ring Alarm Security System.

That’s right! While Ring first made a name for itself with its popular Video Doorbells, it would be remiss not to mention all the benefits and features of the second-generation Ring Alarm, a DIY home security system that works with any house or apartment.

The Ring Alarm offers all of the pieces you'll need for peace of mind in your home. Each bundle includes a Base Station, a Keypad, Contact Sensors, Motion Detectors and a Range Extender. It's also available in four standard size kits, so you're able to pick the one that best suits your home's size.

Ring Alarm 10-Piece Kit: If you live in a home with one to two bedrooms, you may want to consider this option, which protects up to five windows or doors, and adds motion detection to two rooms.

Ring Alarm 14-Piece Kit: If you live in a larger home with three or more bedrooms, this option may be the right choice for you. It can help you protect up to eight windows or doors, and adds motion detection to two rooms.

Setup is quick and simple — just plug in the Ring Alarm Base Station, connect the components and control it all from the Keypad or the Ring App on your phone. You can also add more sensors and security devices at any time based on your security needs. This can include additional Contact Sensors and Motion Detectors to cover extra rooms and entry points, as well as other alarm accessories such as Smoke & CO Listeners, Flood & Freeze Sensors and Panic Buttons.

The Ring App allows you to sync all of your Ring devices and manage them all from one simple dashboard, whether you’re home or away. You’ll also receive real-time notifications from your devices and have the option to personalize your notification preferences so you only receive the alerts you care about.

When it comes to setting your alarm, there are three different modes that you can easily activate or turn off at any time: Disarmed, Home and Away. In Disarmed Mode, you can easily go in and out of your home without triggering the alarm. All of the Contact Sensors and Motion Detectors will be disarmed by default in this mode. When you're relaxing at home or going to bed, you can set your alarm to Home Mode, which arms the Contact Sensors around the perimeter of your home and disarms all Motion Detectors inside your home. When you're at work, running errands or on vacation, you can arm all sensors by setting the alarm to Away Mode.
