More than 130,000 pounds of turkey kielbasa has been recalled that was sold at Aldi stores in 35 states, food safety regulators said.

The federal Food Safety and Inspection Service said in a Jan. 5 notice that Salm Partners in Denmark, Wisconsin, recalled ready-to-eat turkey kielbasa products that could be contaminated with extraneous materials, "specifically bone fragments."

The 13-ounce kielbasa products were produced Oct. 27 and Oct. 30, and were sold in vacuum-sealed packages with the label "PARKVIEW TURKEY POLSKA KIELBASA." The items can be identified with the following label numbers: P-32009 and "USE BY APR 24 24" or "USE BY APR 27 24."

The agency initially said the products were shipped to retail locations nationwide. On Wednesday, regulators released an updated recall list of states and establishments that probably received the kielbasa.

The agency learned of the contamination after the company said it received consumer complaints reporting that pieces of bone were found in the turkey kielbasa product. The food safety service also received two consumer complaints of bone debris.

"There has been one reported minor oral injury associated with consumption of this product," the recall notice said. "FSIS has received no additional reports of injury or illness from consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider."

Anyone who bought the product should not eat them, the agency said. The products should be thrown away or returned to the store.
