NYU Shuts Down PTSD Studies After Wrongdoing: Report

The New York Times detailed a series of mistakes which led to the shuttering of eight studies.

New York University has closed down eight studies and fired a top researcher after a series of violations were found in studies on post-traumatic stress disorder, according to The New York Times.

The Times reported Monday that testing on a drug meant to mimic marijuana was found to have "lax oversight." Dr. Alexander Neumeister, the studies’ lead investigator, was first placed on leave before submitting his resignation, according to the Times.

Among the violations discovered by the Food and Drug Administration were falsified records, inaccurate case histories and a lack of following up with participants.
