Meet our newest Patch Pet of the Week: Zeke!

Zeke Love Hewitt is 1-year-old Golden Retriever pup from Bedminster, New Jersey. He is described as sweet, funny and outgoing. He LOVES to be the center of attention at all times and showing everybody he meets his toys.

First day home

His owners drove all the way from Ohio to New Jersey to get Zeke, so he had a 10-hour car ride to get through before he could be in his new home! While most dogs would probably be difficult during that long of a ride, Zeke was perfect! He snuggled in his owner's lap the whole night. When he finally made it to his new home, he crawled out of the temporary crate that was set up for him, and opted to sleep on a pile of laundry instead. So adorable.

Likes

Evident from his first journey home, Zeke enjoys long drives in the car. He also loves to get his exercise in by swimming, going for walks with his mama and papa and playing with his tennis ball. He's such a friendly pup! He loves playing with new dogs and giving kisses to everyone he meets.

Dislikes

When Zeke wants to swim, Zeke REALLY wants to swim — he hates being told that he can't. He also doesn't like lettuce, just like me, LOL!

Weirdest thing he ever ate

He's typically pretty good at not eating weird things, knock on wood! However, he does pick up dead mice, frogs, etc. but never swallows them.

Favorite treat

He loves his Greenies!

Funniest habit

Zeke can "talk" to you! It sounds like a mix between a friendly growl and a low, rumbly bark. We wonder what he's really trying to say.

Favorite toy

He loves to hone his hunting skills with his Hide-A-Squirrel toy.
