Police-Involved Shooting In Medina: 2 Arrested

Bellevue police said two people were arrested after a man rammed a police cruiser in Medina, causing the officer to open fire.

MEDINA, WA — A man was arrested late Saturday night after police said he was involved in a hit-and-run then rammed a police cruiser in Medina, leading a police officer to open fire.

Police said a Medina police officer tried to pull over the driver at about 8:30 p.m. following the hit-and-run.

"The suspect driver rammed the Medina patrol car," Bellevue police said in a tweet Sunday. "The officer fired shots at the suspect vehicle. The driver fled on foot and the officer pursued, apprehending the suspect."

Police said they arrested another person who was with the man. The names of the two people arrested were not released.
