These Inflation-Fighting Thanksgiving Grocery Deals Start At Under $20

Target, Walmart, Aldi, Costco and other stores knock back prices on Thanksgiving meal baskets to make a traditional feast more affordable.

Inflation continues to be a painful reality for millions of Americans, putting a traditional Thanksgiving dinner out of their reach. Several national and regional retail chains are helping them set the table by bringing back cheap Thanksgiving meals.

These holiday meal deals include turkey, stuffing side dishes and desserts, and some feature ham and other pork, prime rib and Some start at under $20.

Aldi Deal Cheapest In 5 Years

Aldi is offering its lowest-price Thanksgiving basket in five years. The full meal for 10 people costs $47, coming in at $4.70 a person.

The basket includes a Butterball turkey with spices, gravy, rolls, macaroni and cheese, and stuffing, plus the ingredients for cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole and pumpkin pie.

The offer is available now through Nov. 27, and may vary by store location. Aldi has stores in every U.S. state but 12 — Alaska, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Maine, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.

Feed 6 On $30 At Amazon Fresh

Through Nov. 28, Amazon Fresh discounts on a variety of Thanksgiving meal staples make it possible to feed six guests for $30. The deals include Butterball turkeys for 49 cents a pound, instant mashed potatoes for $2.59 t $4.69, green beans for 99 cents to $2.19 a can, biscuits for $2.19 and stuffing mix for $1.49.

In addition, Amazon Fresh is offering extra promotions to Prime members, including 10 percent off grocery orders and 15 percent off the purchase of four or more bottles of wine.

Costco Gourmet Turkey Dinner For 8

Costco is taking $50 off pre-order online purchases of its gourmet Thanksgiving dinner for eight. After the discount, the price is around $180, or about $22.50 per person. The bundle includes a pre-brined turkey breast ready to roast and lots of classic sides ready to be heated up or eaten, including mashed potatoes and gravy, macaroni and cheese, sweet corn, green bean casserole, stuffing, cranberry relish, dinner rolls, pumpkin pie and apple cobbler.

Harris Teeter Has 3 Deals

Harris Teeter has three Thanksgiving meal deals: The turkey dinner for $80 serves eight to 10 people and includes a 9- to 12-pound fully cooked turkey and six sides; the ham dinner for $80 serves eight to 10 people and includes a 7- to 9-pound ham with five sides; the prime rib dinner for $100 serves six to eight people and includes 4 pounds of boneless prime rib and four sides.

Hy-Vee Meal Baskets As Low As $30

Hy-Vee has a turkey dinner for six that comes in at about $5 a person. The meal includes an oven-ready turkey breast or whole frozen turkey, cut green beans, cream of mushroom soup, russet potatoes, gravy and stuffing mix, rolls, and a fresh fruit or pumpkin half-pie.
Hy-Vee has stores in Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.

Lidl Knocks Down Prices On Staples

Lidl has cut prices on the ingredients for a Thanksgiving dinner in a food box that costs $45 and feeds a family of 10. The box includes a Shady Brook Farms Frozen whole turkey, turkey stuffing mix, boxed macaroni and cheese, green beans, cranberry sauce, Hawaiian sweet rolls and ingredients to make a pumpkin pie. The deal is good through Nov. 27.

Lidl has stores in Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Washington, D.C., Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey and New York.

Lowes Foods Offers Several Options

Lowes Foods has several options for ham or turkey dinners, all including 2.5 pounds of macaroni and cheese, 2.5 pounds of mashed potatoes, 2 pounds of homestyle stuffing, 1.5 pounds of green beans and 2 pounds of homestyle turkey gravy.

The options include a gourmet turkey dinner for $100, a turkey breast dinner for $90, a spiral ham dinner for $80, a Boar’s Head Sweet Slice Boneless Smoke Ham dinner for $100, and a Boar’s Head Seasoned Oven Roasted Turkey Breast Dinner ($90)

Lowes Foods has stores in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Georgia.

Publix Offers 10 Meat Options

Publix appeals to different tastes with its ham, turkey and pork meals that serve anywhere from three to 15 people. Each comes with at least two sides and a dessert. Options are: ham dinner for three ($50), ham dinner for eight ($80), Boar’s Head classic turkey roast for three ($56); Boar’s Head carve-and-serve turkey breast dinner for seven ($80); complete turkey breast dinner for eight ($80); complete turkey dinner for eight ($70); turkey dinner with rice and plantains for eight ($70); complete turkey dinner for 15 ($140); turkey dinner with rice and plantains for 15 ($140); and mojo pork dinner with rice and plantains for eight $70.

Publix has stores in eight states: Florida, Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and Kentucky.

Sam’s Club Delivers Pre-Cooked Meals

Sam’s Club members can get a pre-cooked meal for 10 delivered to their homes within three hours. The meal entirely of Member’s Mark products costs $100, or $10 a person, and includes mashed potatoes, a smoked turkey, a pumpkin pie, mashed sweet potatoes, Brussels sprouts, yeast rolls, cranberry crunch salad and macaroni and cheese.

Participation varies by location. Sam’s Club warehouse stores are found in every state but five — Alaska, Massachusetts, Oregon, Rhode Island, and Washington State.

Save A Lot Charges $3.75 A Meal

The meal package for eight comes in at around $3.75 a person and includes a Honeysuckle White or Jennie-O turkey for 99 cents a pound, fresh sweet potatoes, macaroni and cheese, whole kernel corn or cut green beans, and pumpkin pie and whipped topping.

Save A Lot stores are found in 32 states.

ShopRite Delivers, Has 2 Options

ShopRite, which has about 240 stores in six states, offers two options. A dinner for 10 costs less than $8 a person and includes a fully cooked turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, stuffing, green bean casserole, and gravy. The Friendsgiving Bundle, which can feed a family of 15 and costs $11 per person, includes a turkey breast, ham, multiple sides, and dessert.

Dinners can be ordered on the website or the store’s app, with options including delivery ($5 to $10 extra, depending on the location and time slot), or curbside pickup (usually free).

ShopRite has stores in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Delaware, and Maryland

Meal For 4 Under $20 At Target

Target said its Thanksgiving meal for four costs $5 less than last at under $20. The meal kit includes a 10- to 16-pound turkey, potatoes, stuffing, ingredients for green bean casserole and a jar of turkey gravy. There may be some variance in meal prices by location, depending on the size of the turkey.

Consumers can pick up their meal kit through Target’s drive-up service or select same-day delivery at the checkout. Participation may vary by location.

Walmart Deal Lower Than Last Year

Walmart also has lowered prices from last year with its Thanksgiving meal basket. Costing about $7 a person, the meal for a family of eight includes a whole frozen turkey (10 to 16 pounds), corn, jellied cranberry sauce, ingredients for green bean casserole, corn muffin mix, potatoes, sweet potatoes and more.

Shoppers can pick up their baskets by using Walmart’s free drive-up service or by selecting a delivery date when checking out online. Walmart delivery starts at 6 a.m, and express deliveries can arrive as soon as in 15 minutes.
