Watch This Dog & Her Human Delight Neighbors In Matching Costumes
Plus, check out two other community members who exemplify what it means to be a good neighbor.

Good neighbors help build strong, safe and thriving communities. They are often the first people you can count on to lend a helping hand — and their kindness and generosity should be recognized more often.
At Ring, our mission is to make neighborhoods safer — and we believe this happens in part by building stronger communities filled with people who come together and aim to be the best neighbors they can be.
In honor of Good Neighbor Day — an annual holiday that takes place on Sept. 28 — we’re celebrating a few friendly neighbors across the nation whose good deeds — both big and small — have made a positive impact on their neighborhoods.

Every Friday, Flannery And Her Dog Walk Around The Neighborhood In Matching Costumes To Give Neighbors A Good Laugh
One day, Flannery, a Milwaukee, Wisconsin resident, decided to clean out her apartment. That’s when she came across some fairy wings from an old costume — and, of course, she had to try them on.

It wasn’t until she took her dog, Riley, for a walk and got a few laughs from neighbors that she realized she was still wearing the wings. After seeing the joy it brought her neighbors, Flannery knew her costumed walks with her pup wouldn’t stop there. She continued to dress up every Friday for walks around the neighborhood — and she even got matching costumes for Riley.
“Our first matching outing, we were dinosaurs,” says Flannery. “Someone posted on Instagram that we made their day, and that’s when I knew we had to turn it into a series.”
The dynamic duo has paraded the streets in all sorts of costumes, including clown, pig and cow get-ups. They even dressed up as rainbows to celebrate Pride Month. “At first, it was just costumes we had from previous holidays, but then we started buying costumes and even having people send us costumes just to keep it going,” explains Flannery.
When it comes to what Flannery’s neighbors think about their hilarious ensembles, “Everyone loves it,” she exclaims. “The retired neighbors come to their porches to see us. The kids at the local schools shriek with joy. ‘It’s you! It’s you! It’s really you! We’ve been looking for you!’”
One of Flannery’s neighbors has a Ring Video Doorbell with a Ring Protect subscription* and they shared a video of the pair in their cool costumes on Instagram. Now, the duo makes a point to stop by their neighbors front door during their walks to show off their costumes and dance in front of the Ring Video Doorbell — so the neighbors can see them even if they aren’t home.
As for Miss Riley (a Weimaraner and Chow-Chow mix), “a Southern belle adopted from Mississippi,” dressing up is her favorite part of the week. “When she sees the costume, she's like, ‘Oh my God, this is going to be awesome,’” says Flannery. “And it actually takes me a while to get the costume on her because she's just so excited.”
Aaron Asks Neighbor To Hide His Packages While He’s Away; Instead, Giant Wolf Shows Up To Play A Prank
When Aaron, a Nampa, Idaho, resident, went out of town, he asked his neighbor of five years, Elias, to hide his packages while he was away. Little did he know Elias would not only accept the neighborly duty, but also add some flair to the chore.
When Elias went to pick up Aaron’s packages, he rang Aaron’s Ring Video Doorbell Pro, which sent him a notification. Thanks to his Ring Protect subscription, Aaron was able to watch the footage of Elias running up to his door and grabbing his packages — dressed up as a wolf.
“He thought it would be funny to wear a wolf mask and try to scare me,” says Aaron. “I was like ‘What the heck’ seeing the wolf on the front of the video thumbnail.”
The prank surely gave Aaron a good chuckle (and possibly a scare) — especially with Elias’ wolf-like movements and howling sound effects. “That was the first time he's done something like that,” explains Aaron.
Aaron loves the fact that he can check up on his home while he’s away with the Ring Video Doorbell Pro. He also plans to get a few more Ring security cameras to add to his home. And who knows what mythical creatures will show up on his doorstep next.
Missing Dog Reunited With Owner Thanks to Ring Video Doorbell And A Caring Neighbor
Greggory was at his home in Massapequa Park, New York, when his Ring Video Doorbell alerted him that there was motion on his front porch. He opened the Live View on the Ring App to take a look in real time at what was causing the commotion outside.
That’s when he saw a dog wandering around his property without an owner in sight. Greggory was somewhat new to the neighborhood, so he had never seen the pooch before and didn’t know who its owner was.
Surprised by the unexpected visitor, Greggory decided to go outside and see if the dog was still there. But he saw that it had run a few houses down onto another neighbor’s lawn. “I was able to get the dog to come to me and see his collar,” explains Greggory.
Thankfully, the dog, whose name turned out to be Cash, had his owners’ number on his collar, so Greggory called them and they came to pick up the pup. “Needless to say, they were very thankful to be reunited,” explains Greggory. “I never would have even known the dog was on our porch if it wasn’t for the Ring Doorbell.”
As a pet owner himself, Greggory says that he felt great being able to reunite his neighbors with their dog. “The Ring [Video Doorbell] certainly does make me feel safer, and I am so glad I was able to help Cash find his way home because of it,” he says.
