What’s Your Favorite Holiday Tradition? [Block Talk Survey]

If you could bring back a once common neighborhood custom — such as caroling, cookie exchanges and drop-in open houses — what would it be?

Do carolers ring the doorbell and serenade you in a tradition that’s more about community than music? Does your neighborhood go big for holiday lights that draw people out of their houses to gather with others under the festive glow?

Do you hold or take part in neighborhood holiday parties and drop-in open houses? Do you hand-deliver cards and plates of cookies and candy to your neighbors? Do you have cookie walks and dessert swaps?

Many of these traditions have faded into obscurity in the shift from community- and religious-based traditions to more consumer- and family -centered celebrations.
