5 Things You Need to Know: March 4
A big day at the libraries, and something for folks intrigued by rail trails.

Email Grahame.Turner@patch.com Phone 617-817-5794 Hometown Acton, Mass. Birthplace Ascot, United Kingdom Birthday Oct. 29, 1984 Bio: I came to Boston initially to attend Northeastern University as an Engineering student, before realizing Math was not my strong suit. I graduated with a degree in English, class of 2008. I worked as a technical writer, and then began a freelancer writing career in 2009, which soon lead me to Patch, which was my first adventure in Journalism.
On the side, I am a creative writer interested in short stories--I'd eventually like to write a novel. I spend too much time on the internet, and am fascinated by the sense of community that builds up around social networking.
I grew up in Acton, Mass, fell in love with the Boston area during college, and now live in Jamaica Plain, Mass.
My Beliefs
At Patch, we promise always to report the facts as objectively as possible and otherwise adhere to the principles of good journalism. However, we also acknowledge that true impartiality is impossible because human beings have beliefs. So in the spirit of simple honesty, our policy is to encourage our editors to reveal their beliefs to the extent they feel comfortable.
Politics
I am registered independent, but tend to lean toward Democratic ideas. I believe that good ideas have no political leaning, and that the Nation's greatest resource is its people.
Religion
When asked, I describe myself as "agnostic, leaning toward atheism." I was raised in a Christian church, and can still both believe in and respect the community of believers in any religious group.
