I grew up in Waterloo/Cedar Falls Iowa and studied journalism at Iowa State here in Ames.
I worked for daily newspapers as a reporter for the Fort Dodge Messenger and the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier before moving to South Carolina in 2006.
I was a staff writer for the Charleston Post & Courier in Charleston, SC until June 2011, when I took a job with Patch and returned to Iowa.
