Hosey is a National Press Club John Aubuchon Press Freedom Award winner, was named the Northern Illinois University Journalist of the Year, was inducted into the Northern Illinois University Hall of Fame, and won Columnist of the Year awards from both the Illinois Associated Press and the Illinois Press Association. Hosey authored a book about the Drew Peterson case, "Fatal Vows: The Tragic Wives of Sergeant Drew Peterson," which was made into the record-setting Lifetime movie "Drew Peterson: Untouchable."
