After college, in the worst job market since the Great Depression, she found herself as the editor at a daily-paper-turned-weekly newspaper in Phoenixville, PA. There, she covered everything from municipal news, business news, business and community features, social news and everything in between.
Hyperlocal journalism has been a way of life for Leann since starting college, covering the local news of Cedar Crest College and then the local news of Phoenixville and Spring-Ford School Districts. Transitioning to Patch was a logical step as newspaper begin to fade in communities and the amount of on the ground community journalism they are able to provide.

Your Beliefs At Patch, we promise always to report the facts as objectively as possible and otherwise adhere to the principles of good journalism. However, we also acknowledge that true impartiality is impossible because human beings have beliefs. So in the spirit of simple honesty, our policy is to encourage our editors to reveal their beliefs to the extent they feel comfortable. This disclosure is not a license for you to inject your beliefs into stories or to dictate coverage according to them. In fact, the intent is the opposite: we hope that the knowledge that your beliefs are on the record will cause you to be ever mindful to write, report and edit in a fair, balanced way. And if you ever see evidence that we failed in this mission, please let us know. Politics Registered democrat so that I vote in the primaries. However, I spend a lot of time researching political candidates before an election and never vote straight party, unless its what I believe is for the benefit of the community and the nation.
Religion: I do believe there is a larger being at work and everything happens for a reason. Is it a god – I don’t know and I’m not committing to nor denying that here. Local Hot-Button Issues: Education and the growing business community and the local government are of great interest to me, as I am sure of interest and importance to the local community. I hope to be able to report on the issues of the community that are underreported and important to readers.
