White Plains School Board Expected to Appoint Doherty as New High School Principal
The White Plains school board plans to hire Ellen Doherty—current John Jay High School principal—as their next high school chief.

Before becoming a Patch editor, I was a freelance writer. Before that, I received my Bachelors degree from the University at Buffalo and Masters degree from New York University. After a brief stint in higher education, I served as the communications director for the National Academy Foundation, a national nonprofit in New York City. I love living in Northern Westchester, and think it is a special corner of the world. If I could just import a Wegmans from Rochester, life would be complete. I live in Cross River with my husband, Jonathan, and two children, Maxwell and Amanda, who both attend school in the Katonah Lewisboro district.
