I am excited to be back in my home community covering news for Novi. Although I grew up in Northville and graduated from Northville High School, I have spent a lot of time in the Novi community.

Most of my experience is in community journalism. I have worked for the Mackinac Island Town Crier, covering local events, school board meetings and local issues. I have also interned at Capital Area Women's LifeStyle Magazine in Lansing, writing about local women and non-profits.

I have a degree in journalism from Michigan State University. In college I was the editor in chief of a monthly print student magazine for two years.

In my free time, you will most likely find me reading a good book. I also love spending time with my family and traveling.

Your Beliefs
At Patch, we promise always to report the facts as objectively as possible and otherwise adhere to the principles of good journalism. However, we also acknowledge that true impartiality is impossible because human beings have beliefs. So in the spirit of simple honesty, our policy is to encourage our editors to reveal their beliefs to the extent they feel comfortable.

Politics
My political view is that everyone should participate in government. I believe it's important to research and educate yourself about candidates and issues to make an informed decision. I am not registered with any party.

Religion
I am a Christian and believe in respecting all faiths and people.

Local Hot-Button Issues
I plan to focus my coverage on three main topics: family, economy and diversity.
