Contrary to the promoted perception of the Green Mountain State as life the way it should be comes a survey blowing that charade out of the water.

In reality Vermont is the most-dangerous place in America to live, according to data compiled by healthcare staffing platform Nursa.

The “danger score” blends a lot of hazards, including crashes, alcohol, arrests and house fires.

Vermont scores an 8.5 out of 10, placing it No. 1.

“Festive gatherings with loved ones and friends are a hallmark of the holiday season, but research reveals all that cheer can come with serious risks depending on where Americans celebrate,” says StudyFinds.org. “Vermont, despite its picturesque winter landscapes, ranks as the most dangerous state to spend Christmas.”

The study scored 45 states on a 10-point danger scale by analyzing fatal injuries, alcohol-related incidents, car accidents, arrests and even snow probability.

Wisconsin claims second place with an 8.45 danger score. Oregon ranks third with an 8.29.

Alabama, Alaska, Hawaii, Louisiana, and South Carolina were excluded due to incomplete data availability.
