Annandale Resident Selected as 2013 Virginia Cherry Blossom Princess
Jacqueline Regan will be crowned at a luncheon at the Army Navy Country Club in Arlington on Saturday.

An Annandale resident has been chosen as the 2013 Virginia Cherry Blossom Princess.
Jacqueline Regan will be crowned at a luncheon at the Army Navy Country Club in Arlington on Saturday, March 9.
According to the Society of Virginia’s website, Regan is the daughter of Annandale residents John and Judy Regan and granddaughter of Phyllis Regan. Jacqueline is currently a sophomore at the University of Michigan specializing in Neuroscience.

This year, the 2013 National Cherry Blossom Festival commemorates the 101st anniversary of the gift of the cherry blossom trees and the enduring friendship between the United States and Japan, according to a press release from the festival. The festival runs from March 20-April 14.
This is also the 65th anniversary of the Princess program, which Regan will officially join when she is crowned on Saturday.

The opening ceremony for the festival is on Saturday, March 23 at Warner Theatre in Washington, DC and the festival parade will be on Saturday, April 13.
