Man in Red Car Tries to Lure Child, Police Say

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- Fairfax County Police say a man tried to lure an 8-year-old boy into his car Monday afternoon in Annandale.
The incident took place in the 7200 block of Farr Street (see map below), Monday at about 5:19 p.m., according to police. The area is in a neighborhood located between Gallows Road and Annandale Road.
Officers responded to a report of an 8-year-old child who was approached by a man driving a red car and the man asked him to get inside the car, police said.

The child ran to his house and the man drove away, according to police. The suspect was described as a white male, younger than 40, with brown hair and clean-shaven, police said.
Anyone with information about the suspect should contact police immediately.
