Sobriety Checkpoint Planned This Weekend in Fairfax County

ANNANDALE, VA -- There will be a sobriety checkpoint Friday night, Aug. 12, in the Franconia Police District, Fairfax County Police announced Tuesday. The checkpoint will be conducted from 11:15 p.m. to 2:15 a.m.

Police do not disclose the exact location beforehand. The Franconia Police District is 51 square miles and it includes Annandale, Springfield, Lorton, Little River Turnpike south to Mason Neck and I-95 east to Telegraph Road. See a map of the district here.

The Franconia Police District also contains the I-95/I-495 interchange, Springfield Mall, Kingstowne, Lorton, Gunston Hall Plantation, Pohick Bay Regional Park, Mason Neck State Park, Mason Neck National Wildlife Preserve, Lee District Park and Accotink Park.
