ARLINGTON, VA — If you're thinking about adopting a furry friend, consider a local humane society like the Animal Welfare League of Arlington. The shelter works with private rescue groups and other shelters to place animals where they have the best chance for adoption.

The Animal Welfare League of Arlington rescues dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, gerbils, hamsters, guinea pigs, rats and more.

One of these dogs is Bella, a female Border Collie/Retriever and Labrador mix.

The Animal Welfare League of Arlington is located at 2650 S. Arlington Mill Dr. Adoption hours are 12-7 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, as well as 12-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. You can reach them at 703-931-9241.
