Alexandria Man With BB Gun Faces Weapons Charge In Arlington: Police
A man who argued over parking in the Virginia Square area on Wednesday was arrested Thursday on a weapons charge, according to police.
ARLINGTON, VA — A 35-year-old Alexandria man is facing a weapons charge related to a parking dispute Wednesday afternoon in the Virginia Square neighborhood, according to Arlington County police.
Officers responded around 3:50 p.m. to Fairfax Drive at North Pollard Street to investigate the report of a suspicious person with a weapon. Police determined that two men had who were sitting inside their two vehicles engaged in a parking dispute outside a business, according to the incident report.
"The victim then drove away and a short time later when he was walking near the suspect’s vehicle, he observed the suspect allegedly brandish what appeared to be a firearm before fleeing the scene," the report said. "No injuries were reported."

After a lookout was broadcast, the officers searched the area but failed to locate the suspect. Through their investigation, police identified the suspect as Trent McCracken of Alexandria and obtained warrants for his arrest, according to the incident report.
Early Thursday morning, City of Alexandria police located McCracken in the area South Walker Street and Stevenson Avenue in the city and and took him into custody, according to ACPD. The officers recovered a BB gun and the suspect was later handed over to Arlington police. McCracken was charged with brandishing and held without bond.

McCraken was arraigned on Thursday morning in Arlington General District Court and a preliminary hearing was scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 5, 2026, according to court documents.
At the same day and time in January, McCraken is already scheduled to appear in Alexandria General District Court to face a charge of petit larceny of less than $1,000, according to court documents. This charge is related to a Nov. 3 arrest in connection to an Oct. 17 offense.
Both of the charges in Arlington and Alexandria are Class 1 misdemeanors, which carry a potential penalty of up to one year in jail and/or a fine of up to $2,500, under the Virginia Code.
