Arlington Fixes Online Ordering System For Residential Permit Parking
The Residential Permit Parking application system in Arlington is back up and running after a contractor made adjustments to the system.

ARLINGTON, VA — The parking permit application system in Arlington is back up and running after a contractor made adjustments to the system, Arlington County said Tuesday. The Residential Permit Parking Program was originally scheduled to kick off on April 3.
Due to the problems with the online permit application system, Arlington County said that enforcement of the Residential Permit Parking Program will now begin on Aug. 1 instead of July 1 to allow more time for applications to be submitted.
Arlington County said residents should expect a four-week turnaround between payment for materials and delivery of permits and passes by mail.

As soon as residents have paid for the permits using the online system, though, they will receive a temporary pass by email and confirmation screen that is good for 45 days until their parking stickers and materials arrive in the mail.
If residents do not receive an email within a week of applying, they should check their spam and junk email folders, or contact park@arlingtonva.us.

To obtain a vehicle-specific residential parking permit, the vehicle must be registered with Arlington County’s Commissioner of Revenue for vehicle personal property tax at the address for which residents are applying.
In recent years, Arlington County has processed orders for parking permits from more than 9,000 households that allowed parking on the street during restricted hours.
In 2021, the Arlington County Board approved an overhaul of the Residential Permit Parking Program that reduced the number of permits households with a driveway or garage could obtain.
Residents can visit the county’s Residential Permit Parking Program Replacement Policy to learn how to replace a permit that is lost, stolen, or destroyed.
