Arlington Labor Day Protests Against Trump Administration Planned
Two non-violent protests against the Trump Administration's policies are planned for Labor Day in Arlington.

ARLINGTON, VA — Labor Day, a holiday honoring the contributions of workers, will be met with two planned protests against the Trump administration in Arlington.
Arlington is one of the locations across the U.S. holding protests against the "billionaire takeover," according to Time Magazine. In the past, there have been protests against billionaire Elon Musk outside the South Arlington Tesla dealership, and "No Kings" protests amid the June 14 U.S. Army's 250th Anniversary Grand Military Parade in D.C.
The first Labor Day protest is the "I66 Pedestrian Overpass Message Blast," which is aimed at showing support for Arlington's immigrant neighbors. The participants also wanted to show they did not support ICE and the federalization of Washington, D.C. The Overpass Message Blast will take place 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at 1500 North Potomac Street in Arlington.

"A core principle behind all our events is a commitment to nonviolent action," according to the organizers. "We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events."

The second event is an offshoot of the banner-wielding Route 395 "Rush Hour Resistance" group. At the "395 Overpass Banner Action - Workers Unite!" event, several progressive "comrades" will be flying Pro-Worker signs and banners overs I-395 at 12 noon at a private location. Street parking is a short walking distance to bridge.
To reward themselves afterwards, group members will be informally raising a glass to the workers' cause at Port City Brewery in Alexandria. People are invited to "Ask Us About Socialism" and chat about progressive causes.
