Arlington School Calendar 2018-19: First Day Of School, Vacations

ARLINGTON, VA — The first day of school in Arlington is September 4 — and whether you and the kids are looking forward to the new school year or are dreading the end of summer, you’ll want to mark the date on your calendar ASAP. The Arlington School District has released its 2018-2019 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

September

• 9/3: No School (Labor Day)
• 9/4: First Day of School (Grades K-12)
• 9/5: First Day of School for VPI and Pre-K Students

October

• 10/8: No School for Students (Staff PL Day)
• 10/10: Early Release for All Students
• 10/25: Elementary School Early Release and Elementary Parent Teacher Conferences
• 10/26: No School for Elementary and Middle School (Parent Teacher Conferences)

November

• 11/6: No School for All Students
• 11/12: No School (Veterans Day)
• 11/21 - 11/22: No School (Thanksgiving Break)

December

• 12/12: Early Release for All Students
• 12/24 - 12/31: No School (Holiday Recess)

January

• 1/1 - 1/4: No School (Holiday Recess)
• 1/16: Early Release for All Students
• 1/21: No School (Martin Luther King Jr. Day)
• 1/28: No School for All Students

February

• 2/13: Early Release for All Students
• 2/18: No School (Presidents' Day)

March

• 3/7: Elementary School Early Release and Elementary Parent Teacher Conferences
• 3/8: No School for Elementary and Middle School (Parent Teacher Conferences)
• 3/13: Early Release for All Students

April

• 4/1: No School for All Students
• 4/15 - 5/19: No School (Spring Recess)

May

• 5/27: No School (Memorial Day)

June

• 6/5: Early Release for Elementary Students
• 6/12: Early Release for Elementary Students
• 6/19: Last Day for High School Students and Middle School Promotion
• 6/20: High School Graduation Day
• 6/21: Last Day for Middle School and Elementary School (Early Release)
