For example, Chef David Guas and the all-women [and mother] culinary team at Bayou Bakery, Coffee Bar & Eatery (1515 N. Courthouse Road) are whipping up a Brown Butter Strawberry Shortcake touched with Chantilly Cream ($9). Mom can wash it down with a refreshing Strawberry Matcha Latte ($5.75) or a bubbly Strawberry Mimosa ($10).

At Big Buns in Ballston (4401 Wilson Blvd.) and Shirlington (4251 Campbell Ave.), mothers will receive $5 off their purchase on Sunday, May 11. This special discount is available for in-store visits only.

Mothers will also be able to order Mother's Day Strawberry Margaritas at Big Buns, blending Jose Cuervo Silver, orange liqueur, strawberry, and the restaurant’s signature house margarita mix.
