DC Man Accused Of Attempted Rape On Metro Train In Arlington: Police
The suspect in an incident on a Metro train in Arlington, an 18-year-old from D.C., is expected to be charged with attempted rape.
ARLINGTON, VA — A woman was injured Monday night on a Metro train near the Virginia Square Metro station in Arlington in an incident where the suspect is accused of attempted rape, according to police.
At about 10 p.m. on Monday, Metro Transit Police Department responded to a report of a sexual assault aboard a train in Arlington. The victim was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said in an email to Patch.
The suspect was stopped by MTPD officers at Metro Center Station in D.C. a short time later and taken into custody, police said.

The suspect, Saiquan Jackson, 18, of Northeast D.C., is expected to be charged with attempted rape and strangulation, according to police.
Reporter Dave Statter of STATter911 reported that the woman was assaulted on the train two or three stops west of the Virginia Square Metro.

“The woman says the man had a knife and attempted to sexually assault her,” Statter reported. “A station manager at Ballston reported someone on the platform heard a woman scream from a train at Ballston.”
