ARLINGTON, VA — Memorial Day weekend is traditionally the start of the summer season, which means cookouts, visits to the beach and eating all that great seasonal food.

The Arlington restaurants listed below are offering deals that will help you start your summer on the right foot.

The Water Bar at 1601 Crystal Drive in Crystal City is shaking up what coastal dining looks like with an array of unexpected seafood dishes at a time.

The just-launched spring menu blends ocean classics with playful twists:

  • Crawfish & Shrimp Dip spiced with Creole flair and creamy decadence
  • Lobster Mac & Cheese packed with three cheeses and toasted garlic baguette
  • Pan-Seared Salmon served over curried cauliflower rice with cumin yogurt
  • Tuna Poke Bowl brightened with jalapeño and wasabi tobiko

"Even the shareable plates bring a fresh perspective, like Brussels sprouts with hot honey and pomegranate or crispy shrimp paired with chili ranch and sesame. For dessert, the table-side s’mores with an optional Reese’s upgrade offers a fun and crowd-friendly finish to the meal," according to a release.

If patriotic pastries are your thing, you may want to stop by Good Company Doughnuts & Cafe at 672 North Glebe Road, Suite Retail 1, in Ballston.

"This Memorial Day, we’re proud to honor those who serve by giving back," according to a Good Company Doughnuts press release. Twenty percent of all proceeds on Memorial Day will be donated to American Military Family — a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting U.S. service members, veterans, and their families, especially those facing the invisible wounds of war like PTSD, depression, and anxiety. AMF provides critical resources, community support, and healing programs that help military families thrive beyond service."

Thompson Restaurants will be celebrating the Memorial Day holiday with a three-day brunch. The restaurant chain’s locations in Arlington will be offering additional special deals throughout the weekend.
