Heart + Paw Expands Ballston Staff, Plans Tours At Holiday Dog Party
With tours and free swag bags planned for Saturday, Heart + Paw announced two new staff members at its Ballston Quarter veterinary clinic.
ARLINGTON, VA — Veterinary clinic Heart + Paw has added two new staff members to its Ballston Quarter location in response to growing demand for pet care in Arlington.
As part of their holiday season celebration, Heart + Paw staff members also will be offering center tours and giving out swag bags at Ballston Quarter’s Holiday Dog Party in Quarter Market on Saturday, Dec. 17 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Ballston Quarter also will have a photo booth on Saturday specifically designed for photos with pets.
Heart + Paw’s newest partner doctor, Dr. Astrith Puentes, will provide care to Arlington's English and Spanish-speaking community. Dr. Jordan Hinkson also recently joined the practice, allowing the clinic to increase the number of appointments available and stay open for longer hours.

Heart + Paw opened its Ballston Quarter location in May 2021, along with seven other clinics in the D.C. area.
Puentes received her veterinary degree from the National University of Colombia and previously worked for the Smithsonian Institution as a veterinary reproductive researcher in Virginia.

“Joining Heart + Paw means joining a team that values high-quality pet care, the well-being of its team members, and involvement within the Arlington community,” Puentes said in a statement. “Our goal is to deliver a full spectrum of veterinary services in one convenient location with compassion and expert skill.”
An Arlington native, Hinkson attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he received an undergraduate degree in biology. He then went on to earn his doctor of veterinary medicine degree from Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. His professional specialties include soft tissue surgery, pain management, lameness, and equine podiatry.
Heart + Paw Ballston Quarter is located at 700 North Randolph Street in Arlington. The center’s hours are Monday and Wednesday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturday by appointment.
