No Proof Of Shots Fired After Loud Noises Heard In Arlington: Police

Arlington police said there was no proof of shots fired after repeated loud noises were heard Monday evening near Route 50 in Rosslyn.

ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County police said there was no proof of shots fired after repeated loud noises were heard early Monday evening in the Radnor-Fort Myer Heights neighborhood near Route 50.

Arlington County police officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 1700 block of Arlington Boulevard (Route 50) around 5:45 p.m. on Monday, according to the department Monday evening.

Police closed traffic on N. Rhodes St. between 14th Street N. and Route 50 to allow them conduct their investigation. At the time, a police helicopter is assisting with an aerial search of the area, and residents were told to stay inside their homes as police investigated the report of shots fired.

Police pinpointed a building from which they believed shots may have come. After finishing a search of the building in the 1700 block of Arlington Boulevard, police said there was no evidence of a shooting.

“A search of the building has concluded and no evidence of a crime was located,” police said around 8:30 p.m. on Monday.
