NY Man Charged With Pepper Spraying 2 People On Columbia Pike: Police
A New York man was arrested Tuesday after using pepper spray on two construction workers on Columbia Pike in Arlington, police said.

ARLINGTON, VA — A New York man was arrested Tuesday after using pepper spray on two construction workers on Columbia Pike in Arlington, according to the Arlington County Police Department.
At about 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, police were dispatched to Columbia Pike at S. Oak Street for the report of an assault that had just occurred. The incident occurred near the Columbia Pike realignment and Arlington National Cemetery expansion project, ARLnow reported Wednesday.
When they arrived, police learned that the suspect approached the construction site and got into an argument with the two workers. He then used pepper spray on the workers, police said.

The suspect then fled the scene on foot and was found and taken into custody by officers, police said.
The construction workers were treated at the site for exposure to the pepper spray. David Legg, 37, of Clarence, New York was arrested and charged with two counts of malicious wounding, according to police.
