Orvis To Close Store In Arlington Over Lack Of Leasing Options

ARLINGTON, VA — Orvis, a sporting and outdoors goods store, is planning to close its store in Clarendon in January, the company said.

Orvis no longer has leasing options at The Crossing Clarendon shopping center where the store is located, according to the company.

Upon the closure of its Arlington location, Orvis said it will consider opening other stores in the area. “We have great Orvis customers in the area, and we will continue to explore the market for retail locations,” the company said in an email to Patch.

Orvis's other locations in Northern Virginia are at Tysons Corner Center and in Leesburg.

ARLnow reported that as Orvis prepares to close its Arlington location at the corner of Clarendon Blvd and N. Fillmore Street, it is offering a 30-percent discount on clothing, except for Barbour branded items. Fishing tackle and gear are available at a 40-percent discount.
